It's a beautiful thing! Her little face went from concerned and apprehensive when you turned to line up. Then happiness then you went wheels up. But my favorite is that look of wonderment when she really started looking. It was like she was trying to figure landmarks or just take it all in. Great video!
My wife did an amazing job making sure she knew what was going to happen next. I have a 16x24 canvas print from that day on my garage wall.

I have one of those, built in 1986! Our old man (now 93) managed to severely bend the original fuselage (SN 240) but he rebuilt it with a better one (SN1540). It is now registered as an Ultralight (minimum bureaucratic hassle) and is still going strong as ever, now on it's third engine

Which plane? Those were good times! I haven’t been back up there with my plane in several years. Still rockin the 2-smoke but I have a heavily modified later model with a Zippered 912 coming soon.

Hi! My brother and I have two avid flyers, and I have some questions for you if you're ok.. I love your bush gear, you said it was made with some gas and oil shocks from a bike. Can you tell me wich kind of shocks are they? Is your gear is from a kitfox 4? Concerning your brake pedals, did you simply modify the original ones? You say in your other video that your brakes are "amplified", what does it means ? On mine, I modified the brakes by installing two brakes by side on the same mount... I didn't tested yet, I'm afraid it could be too powerfull... thanks in advance for your reply, if you want I can give you my email. Cheers, Olivier from France.

I see so man Kitfox videos but not that many Avids. I enjoy seeing your stuff!! If I may ask, why did you go with Avid as opposed to Kitfox?
I had the opportunity to grow up with Dean Wilson the ORIGINAL designer of the Avid in my EAA chapter. He was inducted into the EAA hall of fame in 2010. Many aircraft evolved from his original design in 1983 to include Kitfox, Just, and Ridgerunner just to name a few. Parts are readily available again and good flying 2-stroke versions can be had for 10K or less. Early Kitfoxes are the same airplane and you are paying for the name. Parts are totally interchangeable. The Kitfox 4 was a totally different beast and was the start when you needed 30K plus to build one.

It's a calculated risk. Drag racing at 200+ mph is crazy, riding a crotch rocket down the freeway is crazy, Nascar is crazy, NFL football is crazy for injuries...it's all about perspective. I could die tomorrow on the freeway commuting. I never leave myself a way out. All of this video is with a high energy and going downhill. Thanks for your concerns. I been doing this a long time I've seen far more fatalities and carnage from the certified world where 95% of them fly along straight and level for thousands of hours FAR above the earth and then plow it in when the slightest thing goes wrong.
